The truth is 85% of people think they are self-aware, while only 15% of people actually are. We can all use some development in this area.
A significant advantage in the business world is getting deeper into understanding your self-awareness. What does it even mean?
Self-awareness is two completely separate tracks. Internal self-awareness and external self-awareness.
Internal Self-awareness is your ability to clearly see who you are on the inside. Understanding values, passions, strengths, weaknesses, etc.
External Self-awareness is seeing yourself from the outside in. Understanding how other people view you. These are two different things and you could be very self-aware internally but need a lot of development in external self-awareness or vice versa.
Dr. Tasha Eurich has a quiz that you can take to determine your self-awareness. Dr. Tasha Eurich – Free Insight Quiz
If you are interested and want to take the quiz- feel free! Regardless, there are tools you can use to enhance and increase your self-awareness. This is an additional way for you to have true power in a unique way that is not as present in the business world as we would like it to be.
